Nigeria’s Minister of Defence has warned that terrorists and their sponsors will face severe consequences, as the Federal Government intensifies efforts to eliminate insecurity across the country.
The minister said the Armed Forces, working with other security agencies, have been given clear directives and the necessary support to identify, track, and neutralise terrorist elements and those funding or aiding them. He stressed that there would be no safe haven for individuals or groups undermining national security.
According to him, recent military operations have recorded significant successes, including the disruption of terrorist networks, recovery of arms and ammunition, and the rescue of abducted victims. He noted that intelligence-led operations are being strengthened to cut off logistics, financing, and local collaborators that sustain terrorism.
The defence minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging citizens to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information.
He assured Nigerians that the government remains resolute in restoring peace and stability, declaring that “tough times lie ahead for terrorists and their sponsors.”
