Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), Joint Task Force North East, have successfully thwarted multiple terrorist attacks and neutralised key threats across parts of Borno and Adamawa States between October 25 and 31, 2025.

The operations included an attempted suicide bombing in Kukawa, an ambush along the Gwoza–Limankara axis, and the interception of terrorist logistics networks. Troops reportedly maintained strong defensive positions, executed swift counterattacks, and ensured civilian safety throughout the engagements.

On October 25, troops foiled a terrorist attempt to infiltrate Kukawa Town using a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED). The attackers were repelled after troops engaged the armored vehicle with RPGs and later neutralised it using a T-55 tank, preventing what could have been a devastating attack. A 10-year-old girl sustained minor injuries and was treated at a nearby medical facility.

In coordinated operations with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), troops discovered and safely disposed of three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along the Dikwa–Ajiri axis, averting potential sabotage of key supply routes.

On October 29, troops of 192 Battalion (Main), in collaboration with the CJTF, carried out an ambush operation that neutralised two terrorists in the Mandara Mountains. Items recovered revealed continued reliance on bicycles and food supplies by the insurgents.

Similarly, troops of 202 Battalion, alongside members of the Volunteer Force, launched a night ambush on October 30 against terrorists attempting to cross from the Gezuwa axis toward Sambisa Forest. The insurgents fled after coming under intense fire.

In an anti-smuggling operation under Operation Strangulation, troops of 232 Battalion (Tactical) intercepted a drum of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and two motorcycles used for illegal conveyance in Mubi South Local Government Area of Adamawa State. The smugglers fled upon sighting the troops, leaving the items behind for further investigation.

Also, following credible intelligence, troops of 144 Battalion and Sector 4 Special Forces, supported by Hybrid Forces and local hunters, arrested five suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP members in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State. Items recovered included a pair of desert camouflage uniform, ammunition, and 50 wraps of Indian hemp.

The Air Component Command of OPHK provided vital air support through precision strikes and ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) missions that enhanced ground operations and battlefield awareness.

A follow-up exploitation on October 31 around Sambisa Forest led to the recovery of a terrorist’s corpse, one AK-47 rifle, 90 rounds of linked ammunition, and four bicycles. No casualties were recorded among the troops.
