
Troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade under Operation HADIN KAI have successfully repelled a coordinated terrorist attack on their Brigade Headquarters in Benisheikh, Borno State.
The attack, which occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, saw insurgents attempting to breach the military installation. However, the troops responded swiftly and engaged the attackers with superior firepower, forcing them to retreat and abandon their mission.
The operation was led by Brigadier General Oseni Braimah, whose troops demonstrated courage, professionalism, and a high level of combat readiness in defending the facility.
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Olatunbosun Oluyede, commended the troops for their gallantry and paid tribute to soldiers who lost their lives in the encounter. He also extended his condolences to the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, security forces have launched ongoing clearance operations to track down fleeing insurgents and prevent them from regrouping.
Authorities have urged members of the public to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding, while disregarding unverified information circulating on social media.
