President Donald Trump addressed the recent fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good by federal agents in Minneapolis during an interview on Fox News’ The Will Cain Show. Trump described both deaths as “terrible” and said the incident involving Good affected him “even worse” after learning her parents were strong supporters of his. 

The remarks came three days after Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse, was killed on January 24 during protests that erupted amid a federal immigration enforcement operation. A second fatal shooting earlier in January claimed the life of Good, a 37-year-old U.S. citizen, further fueling public scrutiny of immigration tactics in the city. 

Trump acknowledged the scale of the situation and called for what he termed an “honest investigation” into the events surrounding Pretti’s killing, even as his administration faces mounting backlash over how the operations have been conducted.
