Barcelona forwards Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski have each been fined €5,000 by UEFA for breaching post-match anti-doping procedures following their Champions League semi-final defeat to Inter Milan.
UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body announced on Friday that both players failed to report immediately to the doping control station at the San Siro, as required by competition regulations. Spanish outlets Marca and AS reported that the infraction was purely procedural and did not involve a failed drug test.
The incident occurred after Barcelona’s 3–0 loss in Milan, which confirmed their elimination from the tournament.
UEFA also sanctioned head coach Hansi Flick and assistant Marcus Sorg, handing them each a €20,000 fine and a one-match suspension for misconduct and breaching the organisation’s general principles of conduct. The pair were found to have acted improperly during and after the match.
As a club, Barcelona was fined a total of €7,750 — €5,250 for objects thrown onto the pitch and €2,500 for fireworks set off by supporters. All sanctions take immediate effect, with suspensions to be served in the club’s next European fixture.
