Vice President Kashim Shettima Departs Abuja for 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos

Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja to represent Nigeria at the 2025 annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), set to take place in Davos, Switzerland.

The prestigious event will bring together world leaders, top business executives, and development partners to discuss pressing issues affecting the global economy. Key discussions will aim at identifying pathways to foster economic recovery and sustainable growth.

During his time in Davos, Vice President Shettima will engage in high-level bilateral meetings with other global leaders. Additionally, he will participate in workshops and forums designed to address critical global challenges.

One of the highlights of his itinerary is a workshop titled “Roadmap to Co-create Investment Opportunities for Africa’s Frontier Markets.” This event, organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, seeks to boost capital flow into Africa’s frontier markets. The workshop will also explore strategies for building a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient African continent. It is scheduled to take place at the Congress Centre in Jakobshorn.

A key agenda item is the unveiling of the Humanitarian and Resilience Investing (HRI) Roadmap for Africa, developed in partnership with the AfDB. This initiative aims to strengthen public-private sector collaboration to mobilize investments in Africa’s emerging markets and address humanitarian and resilience challenges.

The Vice President’s itinerary also includes attending a dinner event for heads of state, government officials, international organizations, and awardees of the Annual Meeting 2025 Crystal Awards. The dinner, hosted at Kurpark Village in Eiger, will provide an opportunity for further networking and strategic dialogue with global stakeholders.
