Vice President Kashim Shettima on Thursday presided over the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The session brought together key leaders to deliberate on pressing economic matters affecting the nation.
In attendance were the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazak, and the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State. Their presence underscored the importance of the NEC in harmonizing federal and state economic policies.
Also present at the meeting were the governors of Zamfara, Jigawa, Lagos, Anambra, Gombe, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Benue, and Ondo states. The Rivers State Sole Administrator also joined the session.
The NEC, which is constitutionally mandated to advise the President on the nation’s economic affairs, continues to serve as a critical platform for dialogue and collaboration between the federal and state governments.
