Vice President Kashim Shettima has undertaken an unscheduled visit to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to commiserate with the Nigerian Army and the state government over the recent attack that resulted in the death of Brigadier General Oseni Braimah and several officers and soldiers.

The Vice President visited on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and expressed the Federal Government’s condolences to the families of the fallen personnel and the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Speaking during the visit, Shettima paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the military personnel, noting that they died in service to the nation.

“These men wore the uniform for all of us. They stood to protect our communities, our families, and the future of our children. Their courage reminds us that peace and security often come at a very heavy cost,” he said.

He further assured that the Federal Government remains committed to supporting the military and strengthening ongoing security operations across the country, stressing that criminal elements will have no safe haven under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
