Victor Osimhen has reportedly informed Galatasaray of his desire to remain at the club following a successful loan spell last season, according to Corriere dello Sport via Calciomercato.
The Nigerian striker, who spent the 2024/25 season on loan from Napoli, has turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal and is now focused on continuing his career in Turkey. Despite strong interest from Premier League heavyweights such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool, none of the English clubs submitted a formal bid.
Osimhen, 26, enjoyed a stellar season with Galatasaray, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. His performances reignited speculation about a potential big-money summer transfer, but reports now suggest he is unlikely to return to Napoli and has instead opted for a permanent stay in Istanbul.
According to Corriere dello Sport, “Osi has chosen the Gal.” The report adds that Osimhen has communicated his intentions to Galatasaray, who are now in negotiations with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to finalize a deal. Napoli, however, remain firm on their valuation and will only sell if Galatasaray activate the €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract—available exclusively to non-Italian clubs.
Galatasaray have reportedly already submitted an initial offer of around €60 million and are prepared to meet the striker’s salary expectations. The Turkish champions are optimistic a deal can be completed soon.
To facilitate the transfer, Turkish companies are said to be stepping in with sponsorship support to help Galatasaray cover the full release clause. With financial backing and the player’s commitment secured, it appears only a formal agreement with Napoli remains before the deal is finalized.
If completed, the move would be a major coup for Galatasaray—and a warning to other interested clubs that time is running out to rival the Turkish side’s bid.
