Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCFR, has visited former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai at his Abuja residence to express condolences over the death of his mother, late Hajiya Fatima Umma El-Rufai.

The Vice President called for Nigerians to rise above political differences and work together for national unity. He also prayed for the repose of the soul of the late matriarch, who passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt, at the age of 96.

During the visit, VP Shettima was received by former Bauchi State Governor Ahmad Adamu Muazu, former Chief of Army Staff General Abdurrahman Dambazau, Abdullahi Sarkin Gobir Adiya, Bello El-Rufai (Member representing Kaduna North), and Bashir El-Rufai.

The visit highlighted the importance of empathy, solidarity, and mutual respect among public leaders, while honoring the legacy of the late Hajiya Fatima Umma El-Rufai.
