VP Shettima Departs for UNGA 80 to Represent President Tinubu

Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja for New York where he will stand in for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly scheduled for September 22 to 28, 2025.

During the session, Shettima will deliver Nigeria’s national statement at the High-Level General Debates and take part in several important side meetings with world leaders and development partners.

He will also present Nigeria’s new Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement at a special UN climate event, underscoring the country’s renewed commitment to addressing climate change and promoting sustainable growth.
