The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, has called on state governments, federal ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), the private sector, and other stakeholders to work collaboratively to strengthen Nigeria’s business environment. He made the remarks on Tuesday at the PEBEC Gala and Awards Night, an event organised by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) to celebrate excellence in public service and the progress of national reforms.

Senator Shettima commended the achievements of the past year, describing them as “the triumph of collaboration over silos,” and emphasised that lasting success depends on coordinated efforts across all levels of government and sectors. He also highlighted initiatives such as the Ports and Customs Efficiency Committee (PCEC), which is already improving efficiency at the nation’s ports through joint inspection procedures.

The event featured the unveiling of the 2025 Business Facilitation Act Compliance Report and the Subnational Ease of Doing Business Report, alongside awards recognising outstanding contributions in public service, access to justice, legislative leadership, and business advocacy. VP Shettima noted that these reforms, championed under the Renewed Hope Agenda, reflect the administration’s commitment to fostering efficiency, transparency, and excellence in Nigeria’s business environment.
