VP Shettima Holds Bilateral Talks With Hungarian President at AU–EU Summit

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday met with Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok on the sidelines of the 7th African Union–European Union Summit in Luanda, Angola. The leaders discussed key issues shaping the Africa–Europe agenda, including security, governance, and peace-building across the continents. Their discussions also touched on multilateral cooperation and the importance of a coordinated approach to global challenges affecting both Africa and Europe.

The bilateral meeting further explored ways to strengthen Nigeria–Hungary relations, with a focus on trade, investment, technology transfer, and educational partnerships. Both leaders emphasized the need to create sustainable frameworks that would benefit citizens and businesses in their respective countries while fostering long-term economic growth.

Vice President Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the summit, reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to advancing Africa’s position in global discussions and building stronger partnerships with European nations. He underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing climate change, enhancing regional security, and promoting innovation and human capital development.
