
Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), for Saudi Arabia after representing President Bola Tinubu at the commissioning of a $315 million oil production and storage facility by Oriental Energy Limited (OERL) in the Gulf country.
At the airport, he was seen off by OERL’s executive chairman, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi; executive vice chairman, Engr. Goni M. Sheikh, and other officials.
According to a statement from the Vice President’s spokesman, Stanley Nkwocha, after the Dubai event, Shettima will embark on a visit to the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah to perform the Lesser Hajj (Umrah) from December 16 to 19, 2024. He is accompanied by Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum.
On December 20, 2024, the Vice President will hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Jeddah. The discussions will focus on co-financing arrangements for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ Phase II) and improving coordination of IsDB projects in Nigeria to support the country’s agricultural and economic development.
