Vice President Kashim Shettima has expressed grief over the deaths of 25 people in multiple explosions in Maiduguri, Borno State. Speaking at the closing of the Annual Ramadan Tafsir at the State House Mosque in Abuja, he condemned the attacks, saying no religion sanctions the killing of innocent lives.

He prayed for the victims’ souls to rest in peace, for their families to find strength, and for Almighty Allah to end terrorism. VP Shettima urged Nigerians to continue praying for the country and for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his team to be guided with wisdom, courage, and fairness.

Highlighting Ramadan’s lessons, he emphasized the importance of character, accountability, and carrying the month’s teachings into everyday life. He called on leaders and citizens to uphold values of mercy, service, and integrity beyond religious observances.

VP Shettima also paid tribute to the Chief Imam of the State House Mosque, Sheikh Abdulwaheed Suleiman Abubakar, for guiding the Tafsir, and echoed prayers for peace, national development, and responsible leadership across Nigeria.
