Vice President Kashim Shettima has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast and decisive approach to addressing security challenges in Nigeria. He emphasized that the administration remains committed to supporting security agencies in discharging their responsibilities effectively, both within the country and across the continent. The Vice President made the remarks on Tuesday during a visit by faculty and participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 18 of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The delegation, led by NISS Commandant Joseph Odama, presented the executive brief of their end-of-course report titled “Non-state Actors in Security Management in Africa: Issues, Challenges and Prospects for Peace and Development.” VP Shettima commended the composition of the participants, drawn from military, para-military, law enforcement, and strategic government agencies, noting that Africa’s security is a collective responsibility requiring coordinated efforts across nations and institutions.
Commandant Odama highlighted that EIMC 18, which commenced on February 19, 2025, was a ten-month programme designed to equip 78 senior officers, including participants from five African countries, with strategic thinking and innovative solutions for complex security and development challenges. The Vice President and President Tinubu were lauded for their visionary leadership, with Odama noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda is already yielding tangible progress in strengthening Nigeria’s security and governance landscape.
