Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Guinea to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the inauguration of President-elect Mamady Doumbouya on Saturday, January 17, at the GLC Stadium in Nongo.
The Vice President was welcomed by senior Guinean government officials and members of the Nigerian diplomatic corps ahead of the ceremony. President Doumbouya’s inauguration marks the formal conclusion of a four-year military transition following his victory in the December 2025 general elections.
VP Shettima’s presence underscores Nigeria’s leadership role within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and its commitment to promoting constitutional governance and regional stability.
The visit is also aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding the economic corridor between Nigeria and Guinea, in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda for democratic governance and regional prosperity.
