The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, has praised Lotus Capital Limited for its leadership in advancing non-interest finance in Nigeria. He noted that stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors is essential to mobilising sustainable, long-term capital for the nation’s development.

Mr. Edun gave the commendation in Abuja when he received a high-level delegation from Lotus Capital, led by its Managing Director, Mrs. Hajara Adeola. The meeting focused on strategies to expand Nigeria’s non-interest finance sector as a catalyst for inclusive economic growth.

Discussions highlighted initiatives such as a Non-Interest Real Estate Investment Fund and a regular sovereign sukuk issuance programme. These, the Minister noted, could attract ethical investment into critical infrastructure, enhance market liquidity, and widen access to finance for underserved communities.

The engagement reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to innovative financing solutions, with Mr. Edun stressing the importance of public-private partnerships in driving sustainable progress in the non-interest finance sector.
