Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, has formally commissioned Nigeria House, Davos, marking Nigeria’s first-ever sovereign pavilion at the World Economic Forum (WEF). The Vice President said the establishment of Nigeria House reflects the country’s renewed seriousness, readiness, and resolve to actively participate in shaping global economic conversations rather than remaining on the sidelines.
Speaking on Monday at the opening of the pavilion during WEF 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, Shettima described Nigeria House as a deliberate response to past lapses in global engagement. He noted that while the platform was conceived as a whole-of-government initiative led by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, its success would ultimately depend on private sector participation, innovation, and capital, with government providing the enabling environment.
The Vice President highlighted early gains from the economic reforms of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, administration, citing improved non-oil sector performance, easing inflation, rising foreign reserves, and greater stability in the foreign exchange market. He invited global investors to leverage Nigeria House as a platform for collaboration and partnership.
Earlier, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, described Nigeria House as a strong Public-Private Partnership that reflects renewed investor confidence and Nigeria’s repositioning in the global economy. She said the launch of sectoral investment playbooks aligns with efforts to unlock opportunities in solid minerals, climate-smart agriculture, creative industries, and the digital economy.
Other speakers noted that Nigeria House will serve as a hub for high-level engagements aimed at attracting non-oil investments, strengthening global supply chain integration, and consolidating the gains of Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms.
