Wema Bank has awarded a total of N3,000,000 in grants to the top three Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at the recently held Lagos Leather Fair 2025. This gesture underscores the bank’s unwavering commitment to supporting Nigerian MSMEs as part of its celebration of World MSME Day.
The top three winners—EwaOluwa Morenikeji of House of Ewa LTD, Joy Fache James of Paciencia, and Fatima Yusuf of House of Zibima—each received N1,000,000 to bolster their businesses. The announcement was made at a special event where the bank celebrated its continued support for MSMEs in Nigeria.
Wema Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, Moruf Oseni, highlighted that this initiative is in line with the bank’s goal of championing growth in the MSME sector. “Our goal is to empower Nigerian businesses with the resources, tools, and support necessary for scaling and remaining sustainably profitable,” Oseni said.
The winners were overjoyed with their grants, each expressing deep gratitude for the bank’s strategic role in their growth journey. EwaOluwa Morenikeji, founder and CEO of House of Ewa LTD, a modern bag-making brand, shared how she plans to use the N1,000,000 grant to expand her operations, particularly in sourcing high-quality materials and scaling production.
Wema Bank’s investment in MSMEs is a vital part of its long-term strategy to help boost Nigeria’s macroeconomic conditions by accelerating growth in small businesses.
