Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, was at the State House, Abuja, on Tuesday as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, unveiled the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem and appeal fund.

The ceremony marks the annual build-up to January 15, a day dedicated to honouring Nigeria’s fallen heroes and acknowledging the resilience of veterans who have served in defending the nation.

At the event, President Tinubu announced a N200 million contribution to the Nigerian Legion, reaffirming the administration’s dedication to improving the welfare of serving troops, injured personnel, and families of soldiers who paid the supreme price.

VP Shettima’s attendance underscored the administration’s collective commitment to strengthening national remembrance and ensuring that the sacrifices of Nigeria’s military community remain recognised and supported.
