Wife of Ebonyi State Governor Registers Additional 10,000 Pregnant Women for Free Antenatal and Postnatal Care

The wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs Uzoamaka Nwifuru, has enrolled an additional 10,000 pregnant women into the state health insurance scheme to access free antenatal and postnatal care.

This marks the second phase of her Baby Showers Initiative, aimed at reducing maternal mortality and improving access to quality healthcare for women across the state.

According to a report by Caleb Ogbonna, the new phase brings the total number of pregnant women registered under the scheme to 14,078.

Mrs Nwifuru reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the health and well-being of mothers and children, noting that maternal care remains central to her advocacy for safer motherhood in Ebonyi State.
