Wike Approves N70,000 Minimum Wage for FCTA Workers

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate implementation of the new national minimum wage of N70,000 for staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

In a statement issued on Monday, Grace Adayilo, the Acting Head of Civil Service of the FCT, confirmed that the approval was made to improve the conditions of workers employed by the FCTA.

Adayilo also revealed that the minister had authorized the payment of three months’ arrears for all FCTA staff, effective from November 2024.

The statement emphasized that this move reflects the minister’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of the FCTA workforce. According to Adayilo, this initiative is expected to motivate staff and strengthen their support for the minister in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Adayilo also expressed gratitude to the minister for his swift approval of staff allowances and claims.
