The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has announced that at least 70 per cent of ongoing school renovation projects across the FCT are expected to be completed by early 2026.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, disclosed this while providing an update on the administration’s education infrastructure renewal programme. He said the extensive renovation works are aimed at improving learning environments, addressing decades of neglect, and raising the overall standard of public education in the territory.

According to the FCTA, the projects cut across primary and secondary schools in the six area councils and include the rehabilitation of classrooms, laboratories, hostels, and other critical facilities. The administration noted that contractors have been mobilised to sites, with strict timelines and monitoring mechanisms in place to ensure timely delivery.

Wike reaffirmed the FCTA’s commitment to prioritising education as a key pillar of human capital development, stressing that quality infrastructure is essential to improving academic outcomes and ensuring safe, conducive learning spaces for students.
