The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, will on Thursday commission two completed road projects and flag off 12 new construction projects under the Light Up Abuja Programme.

According to his aide, Lere Olayinka, the commissioned works include access roads in Sector Centre B, Dakibiyu District, as well as Roads ILS 11 (Esther Bali Street) and MAR 24 (Kez Udezue Street) in Mabushi District.

The new projects, scheduled between September 18 and October 16, cover the installation of hybrid solar lighting across major districts and expressways, full scope development of arterial roads, construction of bridges, rehabilitation of the Old Keffi Road, and provision of engineering infrastructure in Guzape District.

Wike will also flag off the construction of residences for heads of key courts, erosion control works in Kaura, and access roads to strategic sites, including the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates project in Karsana West.

The initiatives follow recent projects launched by the Minister, including water supply expansion to satellite towns, a sports centre in Kafe, and road reconstruction in Karu.
