As Nigeria joins the global community to mark World AIDS Day 2025, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for strengthened national efforts to end HIV/AIDS by 2030 in line with global targets.
In a message commemorating the day, which is themed “Overcoming Disruptions; Transforming the AIDS Response,” Senator Tinubu highlighted Nigeria’s significant progress in HIV prevention, treatment, and care. She noted, however, that the journey toward achieving an AIDS-free nation is ongoing and requires sustained commitment from all stakeholders.
The First Lady emphasized that every Nigerian deserves access to life-saving HIV services without fear of stigma or discrimination. She urged young people to take responsibility for their health by getting tested and seeking treatment if necessary.
Senator Tinubu also called on communities across the country to show compassion, support persons living with HIV, and reject all forms of stigmatization.
She concluded with a goodwill message, wishing Nigerians a meaningful World AIDS Day 2025.
