Professional wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, has died at the age of 71 following a heart attack. Official reports list acute myocardial infarction as the cause of death. Hogan passed away on July 24 in Florida. Documents obtained by Page Six reveal that he had been battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), a type of cancer affecting white blood cells, and was also diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat condition. His death has been ruled as natural causes, with a cremation request submitted to the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center.
Longtime friend Eric Bischoff shared an emotional account of their final conversation on his 83 Weeks podcast, recalling Hogan’s reluctance to be seen in his weakened state. “He sounded tired… he said, ‘I really want to see you, but I’m kind of embarrassed for you to see me this way.’” Despite his declining health, Bischoff said Hogan’s trademark personality never faded: “It was work for him to have a conversation, but he was the same guy.”
Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Hogan, paid tribute in a heartfelt Instagram post, describing the deep impact of his passing. “When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him,” she wrote, acknowledging their complicated relationship but noting they had reconciled during his illness. She reflected on their shared struggles, including “almost 25 surgeries together,” and the emotional distance that once separated them. “It was like there was a force field around him,” she said.
