The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has strengthened the party’s food security agenda with a ₦10 million donation alongside the distribution of seedlings and other farm inputs to farmers in Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The intervention, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and supporting rural livelihoods, was unveiled over the weekend in Ampang East, Yilwatda’s home community in Kanke LGA.

Speaking during the event, the APC national chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to promoting agriculture as a key driver of economic growth, food sufficiency, and job creation, particularly at the grassroots level. He noted that empowering farmers with resources and inputs remains critical to achieving sustainable food security across the country.

The ceremony also featured the conferment of a traditional chieftaincy title on Professor Yilwatda by community leaders, in recognition of his contributions to community development, agriculture, and public service.

Beneficiaries of the intervention commended the APC chairman for the support, describing it as timely and impactful, especially as the farming season approaches.

The initiative aligns with the broader agricultural and economic reform agenda of the APC-led federal government, which prioritises food production, rural development, and economic resilience.
