Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the immediate dissolution of the Borno State Executive Council, relieving all Commissioners of their duties.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Governor said the decision was taken to enable any of the affected Commissioners who may wish to contest elective positions in the 2027 general elections to do so without holding executive offices.

He directed all outgoing Commissioners to hand over the affairs of their respective ministries to Permanent Secretaries on or before Friday, April 3, 2026.

Governor Zulum expressed appreciation to the Commissioners for their dedication, commitment, and contributions to the development of Borno State.
