The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced that successful candidates from the 2022 police recruitment exercise are to begin their training this Saturday, August 10, 2024, at various Police colleges across the country.
PSC spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, stated that the training will run from August 10th to August 20, 2024.
Candidates who have confirmed their status on the Police Recruitment Portal (https://apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng) are expected to report for training. The names of these candidates have already been provided to the management of the respective colleges, and only those listed will be admitted.
The commission clarified that it has discontinued the previous portal (www.policeservicecommission.cloud) after a detailed meeting with police management. It was agreed that the portal used from the start of the exercise should be maintained to ensure fairness, justice, and inclusivity in the recruitment process.
The PSC emphasized, “Only candidates whose names appear on the agreed portal or who have received official messages inviting them to report at the colleges will be allowed for the training.”
Messages are being sent to successful candidates, including specialists who will report for training between September 28 and October 10, 2024.
PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), urged candidates to report to the colleges on the specified dates. He assured that the commission will monitor their progress throughout their training to ensure they are fully prepared to serve the nation and contribute to the fight against banditry and terrorism.
Dr. Argungu added that commission staff would be deployed to the colleges to oversee the candidates’ conduct and disposition during the training.
