
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the ban on publicly parading criminal suspects before formal charges are filed in court.
In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP emphasized that the directive aligns with global best practices and aims to uphold fundamental human rights.
Egbetokun reiterated that the Nigeria Police Force is committed to modernizing its operations and ensuring respect for the rights and dignity of all individuals, including those under investigation.
He also urged the media and the public to comply with the directive, emphasizing that responsible reporting and ethical journalism are crucial to maintaining public trust and ensuring a fair justice system.
