
On August 27, 2024, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori celebrated the 33rd anniversary of the state’s creation with a Thanksgiving service at the Government House Chapel in Asaba. Highlighting the state’s remarkable progress since its inception in 1991, Oborevwori noted Delta’s emergence as a significant economic and strategic player in Nigeria.
In his address, Oborevwori acknowledged the state’s steady growth across various development indicators and praised its entrepreneurial spirit. He urged continued unity and prayer for the state’s prosperity and emphasized his commitment to advancing the administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda, focusing on peace, security, and development.
The governor also expressed gratitude for the peaceful conduct during recent #Endbadgovernance protests and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social investment. He emphasized ongoing efforts to combat crime in collaboration with security agencies.
Pastor Shiyanbade Adekunle of Living Faith Church delivered a sermon on the importance of collective thanksgiving, encouraging the community to remain grateful and steadfast in faith. The subdued event was attended by state executives, council members, royal fathers, and other dignitaries.
