The Federal Government has launched the Diaspora BRIDGE (Bringing Resources, Ideas and Development for Greater Engagement) platform, a new initiative designed to connect Nigerian professionals living abroad with tertiary institutions across the country. The platform aims to harness the expertise, innovation, and global exposure of diaspora Nigerians to strengthen the nation’s higher education and research systems.

Through the BRIDGE platform, universities and research institutions in Nigeria will have access to a wide pool of Nigerian experts abroad for collaboration in areas such as teaching, curriculum development, mentorship, joint research, and institutional capacity building. This strategic engagement is expected to enhance academic standards and support national development efforts through knowledge transfer and innovation partnerships.

The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging the strengths of Nigerians in the diaspora for domestic growth and transformation. It also builds a framework for long-term collaboration between global Nigerian talent and local academic institutions, ensuring that the country benefits from its citizens’ international experience and exposure.
