Ciara is preparing to deliver a different kind of bundle of joy this week — her long-awaited new album. The Grammy-winning R&B-pop star announced that her eighth studio album, CiCi, will be released on Friday, marking her first full-length project since 2019’s Beauty Marks and her first as an independent artist.
The album expands on her 2023 seven-track EP CiCi and features 14 songs, including past singles like “How We Roll” with Chris Brown, which topped Billboard’s R&B digital song sales chart, and “Forever” with Lil Baby. The record also boasts fresh collaborations with Tyga, BossMan DLow, Busta Rhymes, and rapper Latto, alongside a reunion with legendary producer Jazze Pha, who helped launch Ciara’s career with her 2004 debut Goodies. Production and writing credits include Theron Thomas and J.R. Rotem.
Speaking about the project, Ciara said it has been nearly five years in the making and reflects major milestones in her life, including the birth of two of her children. “If I ever stop loving the process and experience, then I’ll stop. But I have so much passion for it and I just feel so fortunate that 21 years later, from my first album Goodies to now, that I still have the same excitement I had as a little girl,” she said. Known for hits like “Oh,” “Body Party,” and “Promise,” as well as her electrifying stage performances, Ciara’s latest release aims to reaffirm her place as one of R&B’s enduring stars.
