The Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has shared N2.001 trillion from the Federation Account among the federal, state, and local governments for July 2025. The announcement was made by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, after the August FAAC meeting in Abuja.

According to the breakdown, the Federal Government received N735.081 billion, states got N660.349 billion, local government councils received N485.039 billion, while oil-producing states earned N120.359 billion as 13 percent derivation.

The gross revenue of N3.836 trillion for July was sourced from statutory revenue, VAT, the Electronic Money Transfer Levy, and exchange differences. Out of this, deductions were made for collection costs and transfers before the final distributable sum was shared.

Edun noted that while Petroleum Profit Tax, excise duty, oil and gas royalties, and EMTL recorded significant increases, Company Income Tax and CET levies saw declines during the month.
