Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano State and 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has indicated a willingness to rejoin the All Progressives Congress (APC), but on specific conditions. Kwankwaso emphasized that any potential return must include strong guarantees from the ruling party, particularly regarding the recognition and integration of his influential Kwankwasiyya movement.
The former governor made it clear that his loyalty to his supporters is non-negotiable, insisting that any political alliance must respect this commitment. He also highlighted the need for tangible benefits for NNPP members before considering a merger or joining the APC, seeking clarity on the positions and roles available to him and his supporters within the party.
Kwankwaso remains open to negotiations but stressed that clear and actionable terms must be agreed upon before making any formal decision. His approach reflects a strategic effort to ensure that any political move aligns with the interests and aspirations of his supporters.
As of now, the APC has not officially responded to Kwankwaso’s conditions. Discussions and negotiations are ongoing, and the outcome could significantly influence the political landscape in Nigeria ahead of future elections.
