Two Red Cards, High Drama as 10-Man United Edge Chelsea 2–1 at Old Trafford

Manchester United clung on for a dramatic 2–1 victory over Chelsea in a fiery Premier League clash at Old Trafford that saw tempers flare and two red cards brandished.

United stormed into an early lead, with Bruno Fernandes setting the tone in the 14th minute before Casemiro doubled the advantage midway through the first half. Chelsea struggled to settle, repeatedly exposed at the back and frustrated in midfield, as United’s intensity paid off.

The first flashpoint came in stoppage time of the opening half when Casemiro, already on the scoresheet, was shown a straight red for a reckless challenge that left Erik ten Hag furious on the sidelines. Reduced to ten men, United braced for a long second half.

Chelsea found a way back into the contest after the restart, with Enzo Fernández pulling one back in the 48th minute. The visitors pressed relentlessly, introducing fresh legs, but lacked composure in the final third.

The drama wasn’t done, however. In the dying moments of added time, Tosin Adarabioyo received his marching orders after a second booking, capping off a night of ill-discipline for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

United held firm under pressure to secure all three points, a win that lifts them in the standings and restores confidence, while Chelsea are left to rue missed chances and a costly lack of discipline.
