Nottingham Forest have officially announced Sean Dyche as their new Head Coach on a contract that runs until the summer of 2027.

The club confirmed the appointment in a statement shared on their X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, noting that the decision followed a thorough recruitment process led by Global Head of Football, Edu Gaspar, and Global Technical Director, George Syrianos.

Dyche, a former Forest youth player, will take charge of his first match on Thursday night, when The Reds face FC Porto in the Europa League.

He will be supported by an experienced backroom team featuring Ian Woan and Steve Stone — both former Forest players who made over 400 appearances for the club in the 1990s.

Forest praised Dyche as a respected and seasoned Premier League manager, highlighting his defensive organisation, resilience, and expertise in set pieces — traits that complement the current squad and club identity. With over 330 Premier League matches managed, Dyche is seen as the right figure to lead the club into a competitive period in both domestic and European competitions.

The statement added that Dyche’s local ties and history with the club give him a deep appreciation of Nottingham Forest’s values and supporters, further reinforcing confidence in his leadership.

His appointment follows the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou, with earlier reports indicating that Forest were in advanced talks to secure Dyche’s services.
