The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has raided Proxy Nightclub, a popular entertainment spot owned by Lagos socialite Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The early morning operation, which took place on Saturday, October 26, led to the arrest of Pretty Mike and over 100 other individuals found at the nightclub.

According to a statement by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the operation was part of the agency’s intensified crackdown on drug abuse and trafficking in nightlife establishments across major Nigerian cities.

During the raid, NDLEA operatives reportedly recovered quantities of opioids, hard drugs, and other illegal substances from the premises. The suspects, including the club owner, were taken into custody for interrogation and further investigation.

The NDLEA noted that the operation followed credible intelligence suggesting that Proxy Nightclub had become a hotspot for illicit drug activities and substance abuse among partygoers.

Babafemi said the agency would continue to conduct similar enforcement actions targeting nightclubs, lounges, and other entertainment venues used as drug distribution centers.

“The NDLEA remains committed to ensuring that no individual or establishment, regardless of status, operates above the law,” the statement added.

As of the time of this report, NDLEA officials have confirmed that the suspects are undergoing screening at the Lagos Command of the agency, while further investigations are underway to determine the extent of their involvement.
