DSS Nabs Doctor Supplying Drugs to Kidnappers in Kwara, How Deep Does This Criminal Network Go?

Share

The Department of State Service has reportedly arrested a medical doctor accused of supplying drugs to kidnapping gangs operating in parts of Kwara State. The suspect was intercepted in the Jebba area following intelligence that couriers had been transporting medical supplies from Sokoto to treat wounded bandits hiding in forests across the region.

Security sources revealed that many members of these criminal groups sustained gunshot injuries during recent confrontations with security forces. Officials have advised increased security measures in health facilities located near thick forest zones, warning that kidnappers may attempt to infiltrate such centres for medical treatment.

Confirming the development, Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara State Governor, described the arrest as a major breakthrough in the fight against banditry. He said the move shows that security agencies are tightening their grip on criminal networks and cutting off the support channels that fuel their operations.
