Goronyo Describes Tinubu’s Sokoto–Badagry Highway as Catalyst for Economic Growth

The Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, has described the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project initiated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a transformative infrastructure undertaking that will significantly boost Nigeria’s economic development. He said the project is designed to improve connectivity across the country while opening up new opportunities for trade, investment and regional integration.

Goronyo noted that the highway will serve as a critical transportation corridor linking major commercial and agricultural hubs, thereby facilitating the movement of goods and services. According to him, the project will help reduce transportation costs, enhance access to markets and support the growth of key sectors of the economy, particularly agriculture and commerce.

The minister further stated that the project reflects the Tinubu administration’s commitment to delivering strategic infrastructure capable of driving long-term national development. He expressed confidence that the Sokoto–Badagry Highway will create jobs, attract investments and strengthen economic activities across communities along the route, making it a major game-changer for Nigeria’s economy.
