
Security operatives have successfully rescued 23 kidnapped passengers in Kogi State following a coordinated operation targeting criminal hideouts along a forest corridor in the state.
The victims were abducted while travelling along a major highway and were reportedly taken into the bush by armed kidnappers. Acting on credible intelligence, security forces launched a search-and-rescue mission which led to their safe release.
Authorities confirmed that all 23 passengers were found alive and have since been reunited with their families after receiving initial medical attention and debriefing. Some of the victims were said to be in stable condition despite the trauma experienced during captivity.
Security agencies have intensified efforts to track down the fleeing suspects, with operations ongoing to dismantle criminal networks responsible for kidnappings in the area.
