President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after spending the Eid-el-Kabir holiday in Lagos, where he participated in a series of political, governmental and national engagements.
The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 5:17 pm and was received by senior government officials, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu; and other top officials.
During the Sallah break, President Tinubu received Vice President Kashim Shettima and several delegations on traditional homage visits. Among those who met with the President were the leadership of the Senate led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, APC stakeholders from Oyo State, and APC candidates from Lagos State.
The President also attended the International Fleet Review at the Eko Atlantic City Waterfront as part of activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Nigerian Navy. At the event, he commissioned three naval vessels—NNS Oloibiri, NNS Mambila and NNS Gurara.
President Tinubu further held talks with the President of the Republic of Benin, Romuald Wadagni, with discussions centred on strengthening bilateral relations, regional cooperation and economic partnership between the two neighbouring countries.
Before the Sallah holiday, the President participated in the All Progressives Congress primaries in Lagos and was subsequently endorsed nationwide by close to 11 million voters as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
