
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate allegedly linked to the abduction and killing of hostages in Okada, Edo State.
The suspects, identified as Gafaru Adamu (25) and Muhammed Sanni (20), were apprehended in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode following intelligence-led investigations by the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit. Preliminary findings indicate that the duo is wanted in connection with a kidnapping and murder case under investigation in Edo State.
Police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed that intelligence gathered during the operation suggests the suspects are members of a seven-man kidnapping gang believed to be responsible for the crime. Security operatives recovered a police camouflage uniform and three mobile phones during the arrest.
According to the police, the suspects will be transferred to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and possible prosecution, as authorities continue efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating across state borders.
