

The Federal Government on Monday announced a cabinet reshuffle as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu swore in two new ministers at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The new appointees are Mr Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
The brief ceremony was attended by senior government officials and spouses of the appointees.
The appointments follow the resignation of former Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar and former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, who stepped down to pursue political interests. Both nominees were earlier confirmed by the Senate on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, an Ibadan-born engineer and policy expert, brings over 35 years of experience across the public and private sectors. He holds a First Class degree in Civil Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, as well as postgraduate qualifications in Business Administration and Public Administration obtained in Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Before his appointment, he served as Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG Africa, where he led major governance and economic reform initiatives across Nigeria. He has also worked with institutions including the Nigerian Communications Commission, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, and major global firms such as Shell, Huawei, and General Electric.
Ambassador Enikanolaiye, a career diplomat from Igbagun, Kogi State, holds a First Class degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos. He joined the Foreign Service in 1982 and rose to Permanent Secretary before retiring in 2017 after 35 years of service.
He served in Nigerian diplomatic missions in Ethiopia, Serbia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and India, where he concluded his foreign postings as Head of Mission in New Delhi.
Until his appointment, he was Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations in the Office of the Chief of Staff.
