Popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has allegedly been arrested by security authorities while attempting to flee Nigeria. The arrest, reportedly made at the Seme border, was revealed by social media activist Martins Ortse, known online as VeryDarkMan (VDM), in a video posted on his Instagram page on Monday.

VDM claimed that Bobrisky was trying to escape to Benin Republic to avoid an ongoing House of Representatives investigative hearing. “Bobrisky has been arrested this morning at Seme border while trying to enter Benin Republic to escape the current investigation by the House of Reps. He is allegedly being held by the Nigeria Immigration,” VDM said in the video.

This follows VDM’s earlier release of an audio recording in which Bobrisky allegedly confessed to bribing officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million. In the same recording, Bobrisky claimed he did not serve his six-month jail term in Kirikiri prison due to the influence of his godfather.

The revelations led to an ongoing investigation by the House of Representatives, but Bobrisky failed to appear before the committee, citing illness. His alleged attempt to flee has now raised further questions about his involvement in the case.

As of the time of this report, there has been no official confirmation of the arrest from Nigeria’s security agencies. However, the allegations have sparked widespread discussion on social media.
