The Wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, represented the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at the 44th Northern Derby held in Zaria, Kaduna State.

As part of her engagements during the event, Hajia Nana Shettima paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Ahmed Nuhu Bamali, where she received a horse presented to the First Lady on her behalf.

She also attended the Northern Derby horse racing competition and witnessed the various races that formed part of the annual event.

During the ceremony, Hajia Nana Shettima joined the Wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajia Fatima Tajudeen Abbas, and the Wife of the Kaduna State Governor, Hajia Hafsat Uba Sani, in presenting trophies and awards to outstanding winners.

The Northern Derby is one of the region’s notable cultural and sporting events, attracting participants, traditional rulers, dignitaries, and horse racing enthusiasts from across the country.
