Akpabio, Barau, AbdulRazaq, Uzodimma, Yero Make APC Candidate List

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced the upload of candidates’ particulars to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal, with several prominent party leaders featuring on the list ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Among those whose names are being uploaded are Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Senate Chief Whip Mohammed Monguno, and former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Also cleared by the party to contest Senate seats are Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya, and former Kaduna State Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero.

In Kaduna State, former Senator Shehu Sani and Senator Sunday Marshall Katung were also confirmed as APC senatorial candidates, while former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello secured the party’s ticket for Kogi Central Senatorial District.

For the House of Representatives, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, James Faleke, and Mudashiru Obasa are among those cleared to fly the party’s flag.

The APC said the upload of candidates’ details follows the ratification of primary election results and the review of petitions submitted by aggrieved aspirants, as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
