The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has held discussions with Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, on strengthening economic cooperation between Nigeria and Egypt.

Tunji-Ojo described the meeting as an opportunity to explore how both countries, which together represent a significant portion of Africa’s population and market size, can collaborate to unlock the continent’s trade and economic potential.

He said the discussions focused on expanding intra-African trade, improving economic integration, and leveraging technology to drive continental development and shared prosperity.

The minister noted that deeper cooperation between Nigeria and Egypt would contribute significantly to building an economy that extends beyond national and continental boundaries.

According to him, the engagement reflects Nigeria’s commitment to fostering stronger international partnerships aimed at economic transformation and regional development across Africa.
