The Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has threatened legal action against Adeniyi Adeyemi, demanding ₦10 billion in damages over alleged defamatory remarks made against him.
Gbajabiamila, through his legal representatives, issued a 72-hour ultimatum demanding that Adeyemi withdraw the allegations, remove related publications and issue a public apology.
The legal action followed allegations made by Adeyemi during a press conference, where he accused the Chief of Staff of corruption, bribery, abuse of office and other criminal conduct.
Gbajabiamila’s lawyers described the claims as false, malicious and damaging to their client’s reputation, insisting that the allegations were made without factual basis.
They demanded that the retraction and apology be published through national newspapers and platforms where the alleged statements were circulated.
The legal representatives warned that failure to comply with the demands would result in further legal action, including a defamation suit seeking ₦10 billion in damages.
The dispute is connected to the controversy surrounding the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), with both sides maintaining different positions on the matter.
Adeyemi has continued to defend his actions, while the matter remains subject to further legal and official proceedings.
